Greeting
Dear visitors,
The Galilee is a small universe. The region, which covers a third of the area of the State of Israel, is where Christians, Muslims, Circassians, Druze and Jews live side by side. These communities make up a fascinating human mosaic of tradition and culture.
The Druze and Circassian villages turn every visit to the Galilee into an authentic, fascinating and valuable adventure. The Druze community,
the core values of which are tolerance, unity and gentility, welcomes visitors to its midst, eager to share the tales of its long past.
Over the past few years tourism within the Druze sector has grown tremendously. The important effort of the members of the Forum
of Druze and Circassian Villages Tourism, assisted by the Ministry for the Development of the Negev and the Galilee, has revealed the villages and their associated Galilean treasures to the wider world.
Today the Druze tourist villages boast more than 100 guest houses that welcome visitors with every modern comfort – but in authentic surroundings. In these villages visitors discover enchanting trails set in the untamed Galilean outdoors, which tell of the Druze community's unbreakable bond with the Jewish People.
I invite you to come to the Galilee, discover its charms and enjoy an extraordinary, authentic experience.
Silvan Shalom,
Vice Prime Minister,
Minister for the Development
of the Negev and the Galilee
